Ketan specialises in advising clients on effective strategies to reduce and manage their tax affairs. He combines his technical knowledge and excellent service to deliver real taxation solutions to meet client objectives.

Ketan Kamdar

Background

Ketan graduated from University with an Honours degree in Accountancy. He spent two years working at NatWest Investments as a tax trainee for their high net worth clients and then moved on to BDO Stoy Hayward as a member of their private client team.

He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2000 but he pursued his career in taxation and qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2001. He spent 11 years at BDO as a tax trainee right through to a senior tax manager. Ketan managed the private client tax team at their Gatwick office, which included 10 staff and client fees in excess of £1m.

Due to corporate changes within BDO, Ketan explored his options to seek a firm which would provide him the chance to use his tax knowledge and client service skills to work on client affairs, instead of dealing with mere administration work. Kings Mill Partnership offered him this opportunity.

Ketan joined Kings Mill in 2009 as a tax consultant and has proved to be a valuable asset to the company; he was duly appointed tax partner in April 2011.

Synopsis

Ketan has a wide range of tax experience in dealing proactively with clients to help them plan their affairs in a tax-efficient manner. He manages an extensive portfolio of clients with particular emphasis on owner-managed businesses and partnerships.

His main focus has been on building strong relationships by providing excellent client service. The client base extends across the whole of the south east and the majority of his clients have been with him for several years.

With his broad knowledge of all aspects of corporate and personal tax he uses his skill and experience to advise clients on a wide range of tax issues. With the world of tax forever changing, Ketan has pinpointed the need for more appealing tax ideas to be taken to clients, in particular, share schemes; remuneration planning; eligibility for entrepreneurs’ relief; EIS schemes and succession planning.

Social Interests

Ketan is married with three young children and he dedicates his social time to spend with the family. He has a keen interest in sports in particular football, swimming and go-karting; his children are following in his footsteps with the same sporting interests.

Ketan also devotes his time to provide assistance in his wife’s business of BACS Solutions software (see affiliated partners section)

Priyesh Shavdia

Priyesh specialises in advising and assisting clients with their accounting, audit and bookkeeping requirements to ensure compliance with the various regulatory bodies. He combines both his technical knowledge and expertise to deliver an excellent service to all clients.

Priyesh Shavdia

Background

Priyesh left school after completing his A-Levels to pursue a career in accountancy. He spent three years working for two smaller practices before joining KMP in 2001.

He qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2005 whilst working for KMP as the Audit and Accounts Supervisor and was subsequently promoted to Audit and Accounts Manager.

Priyesh was appointed as a partner within the firm in April 2011.

Synopsis

Priyesh has gained a wide range of accounting experience through dealing proactively with clients to help them meet their regulatory requirements. He manages a portfolio of clients with particular emphasis on audit, owner-managed businesses and sole traders.

Priyesh has over 12 years' experience with TAS Books, Sage Line 50 and Line 100 and other bespoke and off-the-shelf software. Priyesh primarily deals with all client and staff training on TAS Books and Sage accounting software, as well as designing bespoke accounting report templates on TAS Books.

More recently, Priyesh has fully taken over the IT requirements of KMP and has implemented new tax and accounting software to assist with the new electronic filing requirements.

During his time at KMP, Priyesh has specialised in assisting clients meet their regulatory requirements with regards to the accounting, audit and bookkeeping needs, by way of designing and implementing computerised accounting solutions, using both Excel and dedicated bookkeeping/accounting software such as TAS Books and Sage Line 50. In addition, Priyesh has assisted the existing Partners manage their client portfolios to ensure that we provide the same standard of service to all clients, whether large or small.

Priyesh is also heavily involved in troubleshooting for clients when they have experienced difficulty maintaining their finance department. Over the years, he has become involved with several clients who have lost their finance department in a short space of time. Priyesh took over the finance departments and ensured that the clients in question continued to receive the same level of information that they are used to receiving. In addition, as part of this role, Priyesh has also become involved with the preparation of management information for bank funding purposes.

Romit Basu

Romit specialises in helping owner managed business’ grow and achieve their full potential. Romit’s experience with clients ranges from SME’s to Large Entities, advising and assisting them on their accounting, audit and book keeping requirements, ensuring compliance with the regulatory bodies. He also completes due diligence work on their behalf as they look to expand into new markets.

Romit Basu

Background

Romit qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1990, and was made a Fellow of the ICAEW in 2000. Romit was a Partner at a Central London Practice for 11 years prior to joining KMP in April 2014.

Synopsis

Romit’s experience has been developed over 20 years as a registered auditor dealing with clients ranging in size from subsidiaries of multinational companies to small family owned firms and charities. With strong in-depth knowledge of IT, he is always looking for ways to assist his clients in cutting costs whilst taking advantage of the latest technology.

Social Interests

Romit is a keen runner and in his spare time carries out significant fund raising for charities as a means to help drive him on to the finish line in races. He is also well known for constantly agreeing to take part in ridiculously difficult challenges. When not running he enjoys making his way to White Hart Lane to support Tottenham.

Laura specialises in the SME market, particularly business start ups and audits. Through her time in general practice she has worked with a variety of industries and business models and draws on these experiences to assist KMP Clients. Laura specialises in business developments, be it start ups or well established businesses.

Laura Dutton

Background

Laura joined KMP as a graduate from Manchester University, having gained her BA(Hons) in Ancient History. She grew up locally, having attended Wallington Girls, and maintains a strong connection to the local high schools encouraging and assisting pupils in work experience and job development.

Laura qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant within three years and moved swiftly through the practice specialising in Audits where she eventually became Audit Manager before her promotion to Partner in 2018.

Synopsis

Laura has over 10 years experience with KMP, its clients and the local business community. A member and strong advocate of the womens networking groups in Croydon, Laura is passionate about promoting women in business.

Laura has a strong analytical mind and continues to love writing, investigating and assisting businesses with their growth and development.

Laura's main focus is to maintain business relationships and allow clients the best opportunity to develop their business, be this with finance functions or advice. Laura pulls on her strong audit knowledge, where she developed a great depth of advisory skills and pulls on this experience to assist both large and small business entities with their developement.

Richard Clarke

Richard advises clients on a range of areas with the intention of keeping them out of trouble! He has been working in general practice for over 25 years, dealing with a wide variety of industries, and now focuses on owner-managed and family companies.

Richard Clarke

Background

Richard joined the practice Barker Hibbert as a trainee in 1987 and qualified as Chartered Accountant in 1991. Richard became partner of Barker Hibbert in 2001.

Barker Hibbert merged with Kings Mill Partnership in October 2012 and remained as a partner.
